Lost City Solar Project

Muhlenberg County, Kentucky

What is Lost City Solar?

Lost City Solar is a proposed solar project that will quietly and safely house solar panels to generate electricity. The 1,413-acre project will use sunlight to produce up to 250 megawatts of electricity without noise, emissions, smoke clouds, vapor or odors.
That’s enough energy to power more than 100,000 Kentucky homes.

If approved, the project will be located 0.4 miles east of Penrod and 1.25 miles northeast of Dunmor in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
The entire site will encompass approximately 1,413 acres of private land. The facility will consist of solar photovoltaic panels and the associated racking systems, electric equipment, a project substation and transformer, utility switching station, and underground electrical connection lines. The panels will collect energy from the sun and convert it into electricity.

The project will create approximately 500-700 jobs during construction and linked jobs; increase local tax revenues to support schools and community needs, and support local businesses by increasing spending on goods, supplies, and services.
